Personally Speaking
Having lived and worked in the U.S., Germany, France, Samoa, and China, I bring an international lens to my work with couples. My mission is simple: to help people unlock their full potential—for growth, for healing, and for joy.
As a therapist, I strive to stay at the forefront of treatment innovations, so the care I offer reflects the very best of what’s available today.
My role is that of a guide—someone who walks beside you as you navigate change, reclaim your emotional freedom, and reconnect with your inherent capacity for love and satisfaction.

I specialize in supporting couples and individuals navigating: • Life transitions tied to international lifestyles • Sexual health concerns • The impact of traumatic life experiences
As a board-certified sex therapist, I work comfortably with heterosexual and same-sex couples, as well as those in polyamorous or alternative relational frameworks.

This is my second career.
I’ve worn many hats—from serving as assistant to the Swiss Police Attaché in Washington, DC, to leading an international Montessori school in Beijing. During that time, I raised three children while helping others raise theirs.
But everything changed when, after 26 years of marriage, my own relationship ended just as our youngest child left for college. That moment was both painful and transformational.
It led me back to graduate school. I wanted to understand what had gone wrong—and how relationships could go right.
Now, beyond academic papers, I’ve had to master new life skills: dating, co-parenting, and financial independence. It’s been a long, emotional journey. I understand what growth costs. I also know what it gives back.
Today, I find joy in my children, my friendships, and in nature. I laugh more. I savor small things.
The therapy intensive was challenging but incredibly valuable. We were in the midst of a separation and left with a new plan to reconcile. Angela is the best therapist I’ve ever worked with—she went deep fast and integrated key Gottman techniques. It was worth every moment.
I’m happiest outdoors—whether it’s horseback riding, skiing, windsurfing, or biking. I’ve even ridden elephants! I’ve practiced yoga and meditation for years, which helps me reflect and stay grounded in my work.
I love keeping up with developments in the field and balancing that with a good novel, a quiet meal, or time with friends and family. When couples come to therapy, they’re often overwhelmed. They want to feel again that sense of joy, passion, and ease:
• “Joie de vivre” (in French)
• “Lebensfreude” (in German)
• “A feeling of excitement about life” (in English)
My goal is to help you find your way back to that.
