Personally Speaking
I’m a lifelong New Yorker who recently traded the subways of Brooklyn for the winding roads of a little town in Pennsylvania called Media. It’s the kind of place that looks like a Hallmark movie set—walkable, charming, full of bookstores, art, and pie shops. Our family moved here for space and schools, but what we found was something richer: room to grow, together.
At 51, I learned to drive for the first time. I got a VW Beetle, signed up for Driver’s Ed, and hit the road. That experience reminded me what I already know to be true about relationships: it’s never too late to learn a new way forward.
The Space Where We’ll Work
My Media, PA office is designed with love in mind. It’s a cozy, heart-themed retreat room filled with books, twin armchairs, and small delights (yes, there’s even a pink mini fridge). It’s not a clinical space. It’s a holding space—for pain, for truth, for possibility.
Philadelphia is just 30 minutes away. New York City is a short drive up the coast. You can find retreat here whether you’re local, traveling in, or needing a reset in the in-between.

My Approach to Couples Work
I’ve spent over 17 years working with couples, and I still find it inspiring. Because real partnership isn’t just about resolving conflict—it’s about transformation.
When couples come to me, they’re often carrying old stories. Defenses they built in childhood. Wounds they didn’t even know were still open. What lights me up is helping them notice those patterns—not with judgment, but with curiosity. Once you realize you’re playing out something you didn’t choose, you can choose something different.
I love working with couples who are ready to grow. Who want to take responsibility for their own part, embrace their differences, and deepen their emotional connection. Whether you’re preparing for marriage, navigating conflict, or rebuilding after rupture, I’ll guide you through the process gently but directly—with both spiritual depth and clinical skill.
Couldn’t have asked for a better therapist for us. We loved Dr. Paulette Sherman’s knowledge, quick responses, structure, easy to talk to, everything. We left with a clear plan of action and all parties being in agreement. I did not see that happening, and am beyond thrilled with our experience.
Practice Values
Marriage is more than a relationship. It’s the foundation of families, communities, and even legacy. When couples get stronger, so does everything around them
I help partners reconnect—not just with each other, but with their best selves. That means learning how to listen with intention, speak with clarity, and stay present even when things get tough. I value vulnerability, accountability, humor, and hope. And I never give up easily on the people or relationships I care about.
You don’t have to arrive with it all figured out. You just need to be willing to begin.
Who I Am, Beyond the Therapy Room
I’ve been married for 15 years and we have two preteens. Every Friday is date night. Every Saturday, we take “family exploration days” where we turn off the screens and rediscover real life—together. I created a class on spiritual parenting during COVID and gave it away freely. I believe in conscious love and creative solutions.
I’ve survived breast cancer, written 26 books (so far), and host a podcast called The Love Psychologist. I sing, write, teach, and find joy in small, sacred things—like nature walks, good conversation, and bubble baths.
I once raided HomeGoods on Valentine’s Day with my son to decorate my therapy office in pink, red, and white—because love deserves a space that feels intentional.
If You Work With Me
Expect warmth. Expect creativity. Expect to be challenged—with kindness.
I’ll help you and your partner look beneath the surface. We’ll explore where you’re stuck, and more importantly, where you still want to grow. I believe deeply in love that evolves, in healing that surprises us, and in people who find their way back to each other—sometimes for the first time.
I’d be honored to guide your next chapter—in Media, PA or Brooklyn, NY.
